A fascinating 1000 jigsaw puzzle of the famous Mr and Mrs Andrews painting by Thomas Gainsborough. Part of the British Artists collection.
This painting is thought to have been painted around 1750, by Thomas Gainsborough. It was painted in Thomas Gainsborough's early years, when he had returned home to Suffolk in 1748. In this painting, we see the newly married Robert Andrews of the Auberies and Frances Carter of Ballingdon House. The landscape shows Robert Andrew's estate, which is far reaching and full of trees and fields. Their loyal dog stands next to Robert Andrews, whilst Mrs Andrews sits next to him. The painting of Mrs Andrews was never quite finished, as it is said a space was left on her lap that was meant to be reserved for a child.
