In "The Peasant Wedding" the focus is placed on the guests sat on the floor, who have not made it on to the top table with the bride and her family. The animals have also joined in on the celebrations and in the background, we can see a group of people busy preparing more food.
Pieter Brueghel The Younger was a Flemish renaissance artist in the late 1500’s – early 1600’s and is famed for artwork that depicted the wickedness of humankind and peasant life. He was influenced by his father Pieter Brueghel The Elder, an artist who also painted in the same vein.
