Case Study - Short Run Bespoke Jigsaw Puzzle for Artists
Short Run Bespoke Jigsaw for Artists
In 2019, the razor sharp political commentary in his photo montage artworks has seen Cold War Steve’s art feature on the front cover of The Big Issue, followed by a front cover of Time Magazine, an art prize, inclusion in a National Gallery exhibition and 20K Twitter followers.
He came to us as he wanted to create a quality 1000 piece jigsaw, manufactured in Britain, as a Christmas e-retail gift. His ample Twitter and Instagram following had been asking him for a jigsaw for quite some time and he responded with true colours creating ’Hellscape’ in December 2019.
How it Works
As an artist Cold War Steve was keen to have complete design control over the look and feel of the box lid design that the jigsaw came in, which we always support, and we gave him our template to design against. He chose our ‘Standard White Box’ shape to house the puzzle in, as it has that traditional chunky jigsaw box look and feel that he was after. We then created a test print and hand made one puzzle as a sample, which he then approved. He took his own photos of the puzzle to fit in with the aesthetic of his website and social media channels for promoting the product.
Added Value
To support our client, we took photos of his jigsaw going through our warehouse during the production process… the boxes being made up…and especially a short video of his jigsaw being cut and dropped into their bags. This went down really well with his social followers and added value to the order.
